Scraped Surface Heat Exchanger
A scraped surface heat exchanger, also called A-unit, is used for the crystallization of product. In a swept-surface heat exchanger, the outer wall of the unit is cooled by a cooling medium thereby cooling the product to the wall or, if necessary, freezes. The blades on the shaft, which can be obtained in a variety of materials are, scraping the product from the wall.
The cylinder is on the product side with different layers of chrome. The outer surface is machined so that an optimum heat transfer can take place. The scraped surface heat exchangers can be obtained in any desired volume.
